Words of Encouragement

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.

It will make or break a company…a church…a home.  The remarkable thing is that we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on thing we have, and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it.  And so it is with you.  We are in charge of our attitudes.

Write It On Your Heart

Write it on your heart

That every day is the best day in the year.

He is rich who owns the day, and no

One owns the day

Who allows it to be invaded with fret,

And anxiety.

Finish every day and be done with it.

You have done what you could.

Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt

Crept in.

Forget them as soon as you can,

Tomorrow is a new day.

Begin it well and serenely, with too

High a spirit

To be encumbered with your old nonsense.

This new day is too dear,

With its hopes and invitations,

To waste a moment on the yesterdays.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The bad news is that time flies.

The good news is that you’re the pilot.”

-Michael Altshuler

They say you will never be lonely

From the start of each day to it’s end,

If you walk life’s path with God in your heart

And side by side with a friend.

-Unknown

The ultimate measure of a man

Is not where he stands in moments of comfort,

But where he stands

At times of challenge and controversy.

-Martin Luther King
