Your Pastor Nominating Committee continues to be working diligently toward finding a new pastor for SAPC.  To date, we have had 35 meetings, reviewed 151 resumes and listened to and discussed many, many sermons.  We meet at least once weekly, sometimes twice.  Every member of the PNC is prayerfully considering each and every candidate in order to discern the best possible pastor to guide us and walk alongside our congregation as we go forward.  As always, we thank the congregation for your prayers for us as we are doing this work.

Sunday, May 23, is Pentecost SundayPLEASE WEAR RED!
Pentecost is a big festival in the Christian church that observes the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other disciples following the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus Christ. Pentecost is also called Whitsunday and is celebrated on the Sunday that falls on the 50th  day of Easter. Our worship service will be dedicated to celebrating the spirit of God which
flows through us and all around us.

Saturday, May 15 from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
Property Committee –Spring Clean-Up – Round 2

Round 2 of the SAPC Spring Clean Up is around the corner. For this event, I would like to concentrate effort on a mixture of repairs and beautification around the church.

Some of the tasks include:
Repairs to the parking lot/drive way from damage that occurred over the winter
Repairs to the fencing around the trash area
Sweeping the upper Parking lot of stones and cinders
Cleaning Gutters
Raking Leaves/clearing leaves from flower beds

You need only bring yourself.  However, please feel free to bring a rake and gloves if you have them.  You are also encouraged to bring a friend. Finally, bring a mask just in case you end up working in close proximity to others.  Hope to see you there – many hands make light work!

Lawn Mowing Volunteers  still needed !

The sign up sheet is located in the narthax or you can contact,
Joe Jackson.@    ji.jackson941@gmail.com
Thank you in advance for your time and efforts .

A little more than a year ago the New London Soup Kitchen changed from in-person dining to takeout meals. This lightened the load and we only needed 4 people to make the salad, butter the bread and put the meals in clamshells for to-go. Fortunately, things are getting better and starting this month we are again serving cafeteria style to a limited number of socially distanced people. However, this requires 6 volunteers instead of 4. We have a good core of people who volunteer but we need to recruit more. Right now, we have 2 volunteers and we need 4 more. If you are a core volunteer or want to be  a volunteer let Joe Jackson know soon. Without the volunteers I will have to call the soup kitchen and let them know that our efforts will need to be supplemented.
I can be reached at 860-772-7653 or
